Wednesday, August 26, 2009

The Wisconsin Dairy Goat Association has a free download on management practices, including breeding to improve production, milking protocols and equipment needs.

“Dairy Goat Management: Best Management Practices” also covers vaccination and herd health, raising kids and facilities needed for dairy goats.

The 118-page document was compiled and written by Wisconsin dairy producer Clara Hedrich of Chilton, in consultation with long-time producer Dan Considine, of Portage, and veterinarian Chris Duemler, of Brodhead.

It is available as a free download here or as a CD sent “snail mail” for $5.55 by calling 608-224-5121.

Eds. note: If you haven’t visited the WDGA site before, you’ll find it full of practical tips and valuable resources
