Monkey Herds Goats

Thursday, August 13, 2009

A village in India took in a wounded monkey who repaid them by becoming the lone shepherd of an estimated 75 goats, The Associated Press reported.

For the last three years, Mani, the monkey, has taken the goats into the forest in the morning and brought them back at night, making a strange noise when she discovers a goat is missing or is in danger.

Mani uses her own mysterious methods to tend the goats without supervision or training, National Geographic reported in this story and video.
