Working Goats

Saturday, August 22, 2009

South Dakota harness maker Marna Kazmaier says goats make great “working” animals — and she uses that term broadly.

Kazmaier, who lives with her husband, Deron, on their Grasshopper Ranch, is a proponent of goats as pack animals, therapy companion animals, in harness pulling carts and even performing agility courses.

Through her Web sites, Kazmaier offers much information on humanely training and working with goats to coax the best of their potential. And she definitely knows her stuff when it comes to fitting goats to a harness and outfitting carts for pulling.

While you’re learning about Kazmaier and her goats, check out some of her other sites, including Does My Butt Look Big in the Saddle and Working Big Dogs.
