Nubian Triple Threat

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

BABY GAYLEtint.pgSusan Ragan is a former Associated Press photographer who now shoots commercially from her home in Sheridan, Oregon. She has a 25-acre farm with myriad animals, including several dairy goats.

Shown here is Bette Davis, left, and Spotty, right, with Baby Gayle sailing in over the top. The old bathtub is one of their favorite toys — the goats never tire of jumping in and out.

Bette Davis, may she rest in peace, died recently and Susan thinks sour old Spotty may have dispatched her with a fierce head butt to the stomach while Bette Davis had her front feet up in a horse feeder looking for leftovers.

“That was pretty traumatic for me, but I’m trying to quickly get over the death thing on a farm,” Ragan said in this post. “I hope to be like that little girl, who when the dog ate the duck, said, “Why don’t we eat it?”
