One Tired Homesteader…

Sunday, October 18, 2009

Homesteaders are tough and most of the time they think the hard life is worth it. But everyone once in awhile, in a domino effect, one thing after another goes haywire and even the toughest homesteader feels like giving up.

Such is the case for Deanna at Plain and Simple Life. She had 22 consecutive days of rain in September and has lost count this month. We’re not sure exactly where Deanna is, except she’s Down South, as indicated in this post:

“How did I go years up north without ever having a sick goat, a molting chicken, dead chickens left and right from owls, hoof rot, and any of the other troubles that plague us non-stop down here? The fleas, the ticks, the snakes, the constant wet marshland for a homestead I have.”

“I’m tired. I’m tired of rain and I’m tired of mud. It’s hard to find anything good in this anymore.”
