Pack goats, imminently useful

Friday, December 18, 2009

When the average person thinks of goats, they think of milk or cheese, meat, soap or yarn. Rarely does a pack goat come to mind. Yet pack goats are very useful creatures, and while any breed or cross-bred goat can be a pack goat, there are certain traits such a goat should posess to be successful.

At Huffaker Farms in Colorado, pack goats are a normal part of daily life. While Ms. Huffaker makes goat’s milk soap, she also raises, utilizes and sells pack goats. Here at ATG, we hope that pack goats become more widely known and the pack goat section at Huffaker Farms is a great place to start.
