coffeeScroungeman is a must read for goat keepers trying to squeeze every penny from their homestead.

A Nebraska homesteader and a disabled Marine Corps veteran, Scrougeman — whose given name is Galen — excels at finding things no one wants and then deploying them for use around his farm. Living on a fixed income, as so many of us do, he has turned scrounging into an enviable and necessary art.

Scroungeman’s blog contains myriad tips and tales of how to live well with the resources at hand and his e-books include designs for a goat feeder and a shed from pallets. Shown here is his use of a coffee can to run the chute on his grinder.

As Scroungeman says, “A little know-how and imagination is all you need!”
