Close the Door, We Live in a Barn
When Marty Rightmyer and her husband decided to pack up and move from Florida to Missouri, they had a vision of what they wanted but didn’t really know what they’d be getting into.
Marty kept a journal which became Close the Door We Live in a Barn, the story of a retired couple changing their lives, their barn and their future alongside their herd of Boer goats.

I read the book. And loved it. I think it took me 3 days to finish it. and i just wanted to keep reading.
I knew Marty from one of the Horse group lists i was on for ages. and learned much from her in regards to horses, but then she upped and left the horse world, sold her house, and moved to the ozarks and got into goats. What fun to then read this book, of her experience.
OK, now you’re spurring me to read it. I just finished reading Tolstoy’s 1,000-page Anna Karenina because I never had read it so I think I’m ready for something a little lighter and more about critters.
