The SALT system

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Encroaching humanity in Phillipines resulting in deforestation has created a serious problem for agricultural communities. In an attempt to lessen the negative effects and improve the income potential of family farmers, the Mindanao Baptist Rural Life Center (MBRLC) has developed a system called the Simple Agro-Livestock Technology or SALT 2.

SALT 2 presents structured steps for developing a homestead from establishing crops to building a goat barn and breeding stock. The hope is that SALT 2 will offer needed guidance to farmers to integrate dairy goats into their farms.
