Buckley’s Bellyache

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

The homesteaders at From the Country Farm in Maine let their goats out to play and an unsupervised buckling gnawed all the pine needles off a tree behind the barn and then “painted” the walls of his goat pen green during the night. What didn’t end up on the walls, dribbled down his backside.

“Thankfully he’s not a fiber goat, all that wool to deal with would have been a huge disaster! He does however have his long winter coat on and actually has very long leg hair.

” Well folks, you have not lived until you’ve spent the afternoon washing a bellyache off the backside of a goat!”

One Response to “Buckley’s Bellyache”

  1. My goats have stripped the needles off of DOZENS of evergreens, and NONE have ever gotten sick. They actually climb into the tree and eat their way out. I have photos of Cedar trees that are “dead” from the ground up to about 8′ where the goats stopped. All that’s left is a green “tuft” on the top of the tree!
