Ethnic Feast Days for Eating Goat

Sunday, February 7, 2010

Michael Fisher, a Colorado livestock agent, has compiled a concise and fascinating list of ethnic holidays in 2010 when goat meat is at its highest demand.

Fisher includes a summary of each holiday and describes what kind of goat meat is appropriate — or not. For example, it’s unacceptable during the Hindu holiday of Navadurgara to serve female goat.

The calendar is a must for goat meat producers aiming to market their product for a premium to people who celebrate their traditional holidays with goat as part of the feast.
