Goat Hunting

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

You don’t often hear about goat hunting. Probably because there’s so much talk about domestic goats that people tend to forget that in many places, goats are as they have been for thousands of years: majestic and wild.

Archery Talk hasn’t forgotten about the wild goats in our midst. They’ve reprinted a story from Bow and Arrow dubbed High Altitude Monarchs which does a very respectable job of discussing the aspects of bowhunting Dall sheep and mountain goats.

It’s not just about the hunting, mind you. Author Lon Lauber covers the behavior, habitat and senses of each species to provide a good overall look at those mountain monarchs.
