R.I.P Steve Samuelson, DVM

Monday, February 22, 2010

The Northern Illinois goat world lost a friend and fan recently when Dr. Steve Samuelson was killed. Dr. Samuelson was delivering a puppy when he became caught up in an accident on I-80 in PA.

Veterinary medicine was a family tradition for Steve as his father was also a vet and his daughter is a recent veterinary school graduate, now in practice as well.

A kind and conscientious veterinarian, Steve was always welcomed by the goats in his community with a butt and a nibble. While not a goat herder in his own right, we never held it against him and he is sorely missed by all.

Our heartfelt condolances to Steve’s family, friends and all the creatures for which he showed such affection and care.
