Tony Bynum’s Glacier Park Goats

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Glacier Park’s mild winter has allowed Tony Bynum to photograph mountain goats he usually doesn’t see until late in April.

“While it was a nice surprise to see them so early,” Bynum said, “I can’t help but wonder if it’s the shortage of snow that’s got them coming out of the rocky crags of the high country this early. On the bright side, they look healthy and were not at all upset with my “invading” their space.”

Bynum’s goat gallery contains a stunning range of these magnificent animals, and the galleries throughout the rest of his Web site are testament to his skill as a professional adventure and nature photographer.

This image — he calls The Untouchables — took Bynum a decade to capture.

Eds. Note: For you amateur nature photographers, Bynum’s blog contains much information about using light to capture the best images.
