CASTILLA-LA MANCHA, Spain –

70,000 farmers and ranchers in this central Spanish region will soon reap the benefits of over 102 million EUR in aid. The governing council has approved four orders for aid, including funds to promote sheep and goat farming, as well as to help compensate for the hardships prevalent in mountainous areas and to improve management and advisory services.

The aid is expected to provide 130 euros per hectare of grazing land up to a maximum of 6,500 per farmer, reports La Cerca in a recent story. The grants were published in the Official Journal of Castilla-La Mancha last week.
