CUNUPIA, Trinidad–

American farmers aren’t the only ones concerned about factory farms. The Tucker Valley Agricultural Enterprise, a fancy name for a coming factory farm in Cunupia, Trinidad, has local farmers wondering how they’ll survive.

With Tobago and Trinidad producers already struggling with limited land and drought conditions, the arrival of the mega ruminant farm is raising concerns. While the Agriculture Ministry says the impact should be minimal given the current production level of small farms, the farmers themselves aren’t convinced.
