Let the Goat Carry It

Saturday, May 29, 2010

Unless you move in particular goat circles, you probably haven’t heard much about pack goats. Dwite and Mary Sharp think that’s a shame and they’re working to change it.

The Sharps own Paradise Ranch in Council Grove, KS, believed to be the largest pack goat operation in the United States. Not only do they raise and train pack goats, but they are listed in the Kansas agritourism directory so if you’re looking for a pack goat vacation, they can fix you up. These folks know their pack goats.

In this 2009 paper written by the Sharps, the basics of pack goats are related. For additional information about pack goats, check out the North American Packgoat Association.
