The University of Minnesota extension offers help and advice to those who are interested in raising goats. This video offers some of the reasons why, and the goats are cute too.

Hello. I am looking for a goat farm in Minnesota, somewhat near Anoka county, that is willing to take on an apprentice. My wife and I would like to start a small goat farm, but I do not have any experience with goats. I want to learn as much as I can before I take the plunge. I am not seeking any pay – just experience. I am willing to drive a decent amount of miles – nothing too drastic, though. I am willing to submit to a background check and any other requirement. I want to learn, and I am eager. I am looking for an apprenticeship that would last from June to August, about 15-20 hours a week. If you or anyone you know is interested in teaching someone how to raise goats in MN, please contact Ben McGowan (that’s me) at bmcgo@meadowcreeksaints.org

    Thanks.
