BANDRA TERMINUS, Mumbai –
An attempted goat theft turned violent when a drunken Shatrunjay Waghmare was seen trying to snatch a tethered goat. When the owner raised an alarm, Waghmare tried to flee in his car.
However, in his attempt to escape, Waghmare rammed a motorbike and was chased by angry residents, as well as the biker. After colliding with two more bikes and an autorickshaw, he was overtaken by the crowd, beaten with iron rods and his car stoned.
Police were alerted, broke up the attack and Waghmare was taken into custody for drunk driving and provided medical care. The police were not informed of the attempted theft until later.
