Running for Goats

Monday, July 26, 2010

Organized marathons to raise awareness and funds for causes aren’t uncommon, but here’s one we bet you haven’t heard before. Chris Smith and Paul Carrington have put a new twist on running. They’re running for goats.

The two, aged 52 and 53 respectively, call themselves the “Old Goats” which is appropriate when you consider that they are running the Lone Ranger Ultra Marathon in Philadelphia to raise money to provide goats to families in Zimbabwe. And that’s just the beginning.

The Goats also plan to run future marathons, including a 6 day run in New York, with all proceeds going to World Vision.
