STRATFORD, Ontario –

With an investment of $700,000 (CA), the Canadian government is working to improve the quality of its goats. The GoGen project is geared to help make genetic improvements that will increase milk production and meat quality.

The Canadian goat industry has a lot of opportunity for growth and it’s hoped that through pilot projects such as GoGen, farmers will be able to move into additional markets.
