Thursday, August 19, 2010

TAIPEI, Taiwan –

After an outbreak of goat pox in April 2010, sales of goats at auction were suspended across Taiwan. However, following a government implemented vaccination program, the outbreak is believed to be under control.

The Council of Agriculture announced last Friday that auction sales may resume before the end of the month in the counties of Changhua and Yunglin. According to authorities, 99% of the goat population was inoculated as of August 12th.
