Goat Show at the Fair

WINNEBAGO COUNTY, Ill. –

Naimhe Jeanne attended one of her local fairs earlier this week so she could bring you a little news about showing goats on the Northern Illinois circuit. Well that, and so she could pet other people’s goats and eat obnoxious fair food.

She and her trusty companion arrived just in time for the junior show in which all breeds were shown. The kids did great and the coordinator, while a bit harried, kept things moving right a long. A couple of photos were taken for your viewing pleasure.

La Mancha Jr Class, yearling does

One of the goat tents; this one full of La Manchas. For a small fair, it was nice to see two tents filled with goats.

And the second tent. Lots of Obers and Alpines there.

Do support your local fairs so kids and adults alike have the chance to see and touch goats and build a better understanding of Ag and a closer relationship with animals.
