Saanens for Pakistan

Wednesday, August 4, 2010

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan –

In a bid to improve milk production, the Pakistan Agricultural Research Council plans to import saanen goats from China. Goats are a mainstay in Pakistani farming as they provide not only meat, but also milk to low income families that raise them.

Saanens were chosen due to their temperature tolerance and high milk production. PARC expects the goats’ introduction to begin in a month or two.
