Nigeria’s airport problem

Despite a project earmarked to erect fences around Nigeria’s Bauchi airport, the Vice-presidential candidate’s plane was intruded upon last week by stray livestock on the runway. This is not the first time animals running at large have been a problem for landing aircraft. Goats, cattle, sheep and dogs regularly wander the airport creating a potential hazard for moving aircraft.
